IMG_1813Meditation is a means of transforming the mind. Meditation is a state of deep peace that occurs when the mind is calm and silent.

When the mind is in a state of restful awareness, the body relaxes. Research shows that people who meditate on a regular basis develop less hypertension, heart disease, anxiety, depression, and other stress-related illnesses.

 

IMG_1158New studies are finding that meditation restores the brain. A groundbreaking study conducted at Massachusetts General Hospital found that as little as eight weeks of meditation helped people feel calmer. It also produced changes in the brain, including growth in the areas associated with memory, empathy, sense of self and stress regulation. The ever-expanding body of research shows that meditation affects the brain’s plasticity and capacity to grow and change at any stage of life.

There are many kinds of meditation. At Vitality we will teach moving meditation, sitting meditation, and eating meditation. Our goal is to give you greater fulfillment in life.
