IMG_1733 copyWe want to bring the family meal back into the home and teach people in our South Jersey community that health begins in the kitchen. We teach the skills of shopping, food preparation, and creating a healthy kitchen while sharing delicious foods with those you love. Vitality aims to decrease chronic diseases in the community along with sharing the benefits of eating a more sustainable diet to improve our health and the health of the planet. At Vitality we believe if you shift your overall awareness of food, you can learn to honor it as a primary resource for achieving health and personal awareness.

Our offerings include:

IMG_3547The Signature Vitality Class
This signature class is multi-faceted. It incorporates a mini-movement class to strengthen and stretch the body, a mini mindfulness meditation, and a simple superfood delight instruction. We complete the class with a mindful eating meditation. The meditation develops awareness, and promotes harmony between the food we eat and our body’s actual needs. During this process you will start to observe any emotional issues you have related to food.

In this class you will learn about macronutrients and the benefits of carbohydrates, fats, and proteins. You will discover which to focus on and which to limit in your daily life. We will clear up the confusion many of us have about what we can and cannot eat. You will learn about micronutrients and how to get them into your body from the food you eat. We will create a Vitality plate to make you feel your best and have peace knowing that you are serving your body and mind.

Gastronomy is the art and practice of choosing, preparing and eating good food.It is truly a gift to be able to cook for others and share the fundamental joy of cooking.  Both the beginner and experienced cook will benefit from attending this cooking class.

Kitchen basics 101. You will learn the ins and outs of creating nutritious meals utilizing the items in your kitchen.

Learn how to dice, chop, mince and julienne. Take this class once, or take it over and over again, to master these necessary skills.

Learn how to create a kitchen with the proper tools, ingredients and spices to live vibrantly.

Eating healthy foods does not have to cost a fortune. You will learn how to cook nutritious foods that your family will enjoy, without the hefty price tag. You will learn what to buy and how to prepare an array of meal choices!

This class will teach the body mind connection: how to eat for a quiet mind, eating in harmony with the seasons, benefits of eating a rainbow diet and more.

Eating mindfully is a practice. The pleasure of eating is doubled when you are present. Mindful eating increases the benefits of the nourishment of the food. You will learn practicing peace, appreciation and gratitude, and eating less but feeling more satisfied. People who eat less are healthier and feel more joy. Learn practicing mindfulness during food preparation and setting the table.

You have heard of vegetarian, vegan, pescetarian, etc. Introducing ecotarian, a new way of eating that is good for you and good for Mother Earth.

This cooking class will teach you how you can prepare your meal in less time than ordering out. Save time, money and improve the health of those you love. You will learn how to have a ritual of sharing meals together.

Bring 4 of your favorite recipes and a favorite meal from each member of family. We will plan a weeks worth of menus you can prepare in a Sunday afternoon.

A nutrition education class for kids!  In this class children and adolescents will gain the nutritional foundation needed to establish healthy food patterns that they can follow into adulthood.
